West Midlands Metro has been helping customers beat the winter blues by offering them a free cuppa today (January 20), often referred to as ‘Blue Monday’ and claimed to be the most depressing day of the year.
In support of the West Midlands Combined Authorities campaign to banish the blues for green and mental health awareness, Metro team members were on a mission this morning to delight customers with a gift card for a free coffee – encouraging them to have a cuppa and a natter with someone new on us!
Vicki Bennett, Metro Customer Service Manager, explained: “As well as wearing green ribbons, the symbol for mental health awareness, through the day and across the network members of the team handed out vouchers for a popular coffee shop chain.
“We hope that our customers are encouraged to take some time to have a coffee with friends and raise awareness of the Chatty Café Scheme, which encourages people who may be feeling lonely to sit at a designated table that’s set aside for people who want to chat with fellow customers, whether they know them or not.”
