MML commenced operation of the current Metro line between Wolverhampton and Birmingham from 24th June 2018 following the award of a 15-year contract.
During that time, the company will be working with partners at Transport for West Midlands and the Midland Metro Alliance to develop future extensions of the Metro network to Edgbaston, Wolverhampton Railway Station, Solihull and Brierley Hill.
The change in Metro operator means that MML is now able to offer external and internal advertising opportunities to local and national clients.
The Metro operates through some of the busiest footfall areas in the West Midlands, including Corporation Street and Grand Central in the centre of Birmingham, plus St George’s in Wolverhampton. The network carries over 7 million customers a year, so brand exposure is definitely guaranteed!
West Midlands Metro in numbers
The West Midlands Metro fleet currently consists of 21 trams, 5 carriages long. External space available is a ‘T shape’ including all cove panels above the windows plus all of the square centre carriage including contravision on the windows.
With around 25,000 customers using the Metro every day, there are plenty of ‘eyes’ attracted to internal messaging. We have all of the internal cove panels to use (between the top of the windows and ceiling) and wall spaces close to the doors.
