Our departments

The Commercial Team is responsible for managing, executing, recovering, and delivering revenue, attracting, and retaining customers and improving customer experience whilst providing a safe and secure, reliable, and sustainable transport service to people in the region. The team also provides data analysis, communication, and colleague engagement to the service network.

The Finance Team is responsible for strategic budgeting, cost containment, cash flow management, accurate record-keeping, and day-to-day financial activities of the business.

The QHSE Team is responsible for the management and improvement of the health and safety processes and procedures that keep colleagues and customers safe and secure. They are also responsible for implementing ISO accredited management systems in the business, the protection and security of colleagues, depot and the network, health and safety audits and the improvement of colleague training.

The Infrastructure Team is responsible for keeping the network tracks safe and secure for colleagues and customers, by managing, maintaining and repairing the Metro tram infrastructure. This includes all the structures, buildings, equipment and surrounding area that support the tram network and overhead electrification system.

The Service Delivery Team is responsible for managing the overall operations of the network, this includes the planning, allocating, directing, and coordinating of the operational network service, tram service and procedures within the business.

Service delivery roles include Network Controllers, Customer Experience Officers, Crew Supervisors, Operations Planner, Drivers, Managers and more.

The HR Team is responsible for managing the recruitment, retention, development, and wellbeing of colleagues with the network, whilst complying with national and local legislative requirements.

The Rolling Stock Team are responsible for the management, maintenance, and repairs of the entire Metro fleet, ensuring they are safe and secure for customers . This includes all electrical and mechanical maintenance works, system fault investigation, bogie overhaul, wheel lathe which ensure that the wheels on the tram have the right profile and suitable for travel and many more so we consistently provide a safe and secure, reliable and sustainable service for our customers.
