Music lovers are in for a real treat later this month as the much-loved Birmingham Jazz & Blues Festival returns to the West Midlands for the fortieth time.
West Midlands Metro is excited to support the event once again, offering a 10 percent discount on tram travel for volunteers and performers, ensuring the festival runs smoothly and delighting fans of jazz and blues.
The festival features over 200 performances along with workshops, talks, exhibitions, and masterclasses, most of which are free to attend.
Performances will take place in various venues including shopping centres, streets, squares, bars, restaurants, clubs, hotels, art galleries, markets, libraries, parks, railway stations, and even canal boats. In 2022, artists also entertained passengers on board the trams.
Michael Reading-Skilton, Metro Head of Commercial, explained: “We’re thrilled to sponsor the festival again this year. The Metro team looks forward to welcoming jazz and blues fans aboard our trams as they travel to festival venues.
“With trams every eight minutes, Metro is one of the easiest ways to attend the performances and venues during the festival.”
Tim Jennings, Commercial & Development Director of the Festival, added: “With 237 shows taking place over 10 days, a reliable and affordable transport network is essential to the flow of the Jazz Festival. Most performances are free of charge and close to the tram network.
“West Midlands Metro remains a loyal and highly valued partner, exemplifying how business and the arts can successfully collaborate to achieve a common purpose.”
The festival runs from July 19 to July 28, and further information can be found here.
